KINDNESS KNITTERS

We have some lovely supporters who knit for us. Their donations are either used at the rescue to keep both dogs and humans warm during the winter months. The coats help the dogs and the gloves help the humans and are knitted with love and kindness by our knitters and hence the name Kindness Knitters. If we have an excess of either of these they are used for fund raising and sold at events.

Dog Coats

The winter in Wales can be extremely cold and knitted coats give our dogs that little bit of extra help to keep warm during the coldest months. All coats are welcome but coats for whippets and greyhounds along with our medium and larger sized dogs often get missed.

Plain jumpers without buttons or any fastenings are best but all are gratefully received. Unfortunately we cannot use crochet coats or blankets as we find the dogs claws can get caught in them.

You can find a free dog coat pattern (and lots of other free patterns) if you register on this site and search for dog coats. www.ravelry.com

FINGERLESS GLOVES

Fingerless gloves are very popular with both staff and dog owners both male and female. We would love to receive these if anyone would like to knit them - they can be plain and or colourful.

If you want to decorate some of them get some old denim and cut with pinking scissors into a small square and set tear drop bead on these. Then stitch these on to each glove and the hat.

The tear bead would be a reference to our name - Many Tears and the beads can be bought really cheaply on Ebay. A pattern for the gloves is below https://www.allfreeknitting.com/Knit-Fingerless-Gloves/Short-Fingerless-Gloves or you can find a free fingerless glove patterns (and lots of other free patterns) if you register on this site www.ravelry.com and search for fingerless gloves.

If you can post your knitted items to Many Tears Animal Rescue, Cwmlogin House, Cefneithin, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire SA14 7HB that would be wonderful.
Thank you!
